Choose the recitation before adjusting typography. A recitation identifies the Quran text you are working with; a font controls its appearance. This distinction matters when using Word Islamic Encyclopedia, formerly Mushaf Word, for research or teaching.


The four reader groups

  • Asim: Hafs and Shu’bah.
  • Nafi: Warsh and Qalun.
  • Abu Amr al-Basri: al-Duri and al-Susi.
  • Ibn Kathir al-Makki: al-Bazzi and Qunbul.

An additional Hafs presentation uses Nastaleeq. It is a typography option, not a ninth recitation. Availability after the trial depends on the licensed edition and entitlement.

Start with the requirements of your work

Select the required recitation, then choose the verses. Check the recitation name in the interface rather than identifying it from its visual appearance alone. If a document discusses several recitations, make the attribution of each quotation clear and review every inserted passage.

Check the source and final display

The eight recitation sources and Nastaleeq font come from the official King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex website. The software provides insertion tools using the supplied data for the chosen recitation. Reviewing the text and its attribution remains part of preparing the material.

When moving a document to another computer or a graphics application, inspect the font, marks and text order in the final file. A preview image does not establish that the print file is correct. See the source notes and user guide.
